Product Control Specialist (ET)
This well respected global trading company requires a Product Control Specialist (ET) to join their expanding team. to be based in their London offices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for supervising the supporting analysts to ensure that the ET position and P&L reporting and commentary including trading (secondary) costs (accrual, provisions and actuals), are meaningful, transparent and timely; Reviewing and checking daily physical and paper transactions have been posted correctly, are within Trading Delegations of Authority, and to ensure the hedging is carried out correctly each day; Responsible for, and oversight of, timely provision of key performance indicators to enable the business team to understand and manage trading performance, including daily exposure and P&L reporting, analysis and limit monitoring; Responsible for supervising the Month End close process including Inventory management and reconciliations and MIMA process; Providing management information and analysis as required and to proactively seek to provide business beneficial commercial analysis; Ensuring integrity of data through the implementation and use of suitable controls; Responsible for development and maintenance of suitable infrastructure in support of business growth; Responsible for calculation/maintenance of fair value adjustments (FVAs); Support the team by developing and utilizing cross cover capabilities for other team members and to support overall team flexibility; Escalation point for ET Trading DOA, limit breaches.
Education - Degree level education, preferably in Finance / Banking / Mathematics / Chemistry / Engineering
Qualifications - Professional qualifications (Accounting, ERM, CISI) an advantage
Professional Background - Commodities/Derivatives Product Control and/or Market Risk (or trading)
Working Experience - Minimum 6 years relevant experience
Other Requirements Very strong understanding of risks and P&L attribution; Track record of improving (or devising and implementing) controls; Track record of improving existing procedures; Experience in derivative operations; Experience of managing or supporting significant business growth; Project management experience;
Able to take, and maintain, an independent approach and challenge where appropriate.
